  1. Isn’t treating colleagues in the workplace well the key to improving our appalling productivity problem, as well as a moral imperative. I am working with schools to replace the traditional top down appraisal system with what we have called “accountability dialogues” where the coach (appraiser) works collaboratively with the narrator (appraisee). Most encouraging outcomes in terms of both productivity and well-being: many teachers have given up habits of spending their evenings and weekends making lesson plans perfect so they have more energy to respond to the children in the classroom and have a fulfilled personal life.
